Our story

Trans Comms was established by Greg Jones and Robert Brown in 2004 to satisfy a growing need for engineers to install structured cabling infrastructure. As digital technology became an essential part of everyday life, the demand from companies and system integrators for experienced engineers to work on a project-by-project basis increased dramatically.

In an emerging and unregulated industry the new company chose a distinctive policy of ‘quality over quantity’, setting exacting and demanding standards for both the technical excellence of what it provided and from those who provided it. Trans Comms’ engineers had to be experts: they had to be capable of working on their own initiative, of problem solving; they had to be committed to delivering work of the highest quality, often to tight schedules; they had to be dedicated, putting their clients’ needs first, and they had to be capable of acting as the company’s ambassador to the clients who had contracted them.

It was a simple concept and one that was overwhelming successful. Today, well over a decade later, around 80% of our business comes from either long-term clients or from clients we’ve been recommended to. We’ve also grown to meet the demand both from more clients and from broadening our service offer to over 40 engineers and six full-time support staff.

Not surprisingly, we’ve continued to build on those original core values, developing our service offer through constant investment and innovation, expanding our expertise and diversifying so that we can offer a complete package that’s hard to beat.

We’re proud to say that we’re recognised as being at the forefront of structured cabling design, installation and support: we’ve have become the infrastructure partner to some of the world’s leading organisations and continue to work closely with Europe’s top technology integration specialists and distributors.
